The biggest mistake I made as a solopreneur? Trying to do everything without a plan!
Here’s how I fixed that and created a business that works!
When I started my solopreneur journey, I was full of excitement, ambition, and drive.
I had this idea, this burning desire to create something impactful and build a business that allowed me to live life on my own terms. But, I’ll be honest, while I had plenty of passion, I had zero planning. I thought that because I was a one-person operation, I could figure things out as I went along. “It’s a digital product,” I thought. “How hard could it be?”
Oh my, was I wrong.
The first few months were a chaotic mess. Every day felt like I was putting out fires. I had so many tasks to juggle—building the product, managing marketing, trying to grow my audience. And on top of that, I had no idea which tasks were the most important or what would actually move my business forward.
Everything felt urgent, yet nothing seemed to produce real, sustainable results.
And as time went on, I began to feel lost. I had all these ideas but no real direction. I was spinning my wheels, unsure of what to focus on and how to grow.
That’s when I hit a wall.
The Wall
It’s one thing to be passionate, but it’s another thing to feel directionless in your own business. There were so many things I could do, but I didn’t know what I should do. Should I focus on creating more content? Spend more time on marketing? Or maybe I needed to hire someone to help? The more I thought about it, the more overwhelmed I felt.
The problem wasn’t the lack of work—it was the lack of a clear plan. I had no roadmap, no structure, and no way to prioritise the endless list of things I needed to get done.
Every day, I woke up feeling like I was already behind. I was running a business without direction, hoping I’d eventually figure it out. But deep down, I knew something had to change.
And I Had An Epiphany
It hit me one day after talking to a few other solopreneurs in the same situation. They were all facing similar struggles—feeling overwhelmed, unsure of what to prioritize, and frustrated by the lack of consistent, predictable results.
That’s when I realised something crucial: the lack of planning was killing my business.
I had been treating my solopreneur business like a side project, but it wasn’t. This was my livelihood. The truth was, just because I was running a one-person business didn’t mean I could afford to skip the planning phase. In fact, it was even more important for me to have a solid plan because I didn’t have a team to fall back on.
Without a clear plan, I was basically wandering in the dark, hoping I’d eventually find my way. But I knew I couldn’t keep doing that—not if I wanted my business to grow sustainably and generate predictable revenue.
I needed a system—a roadmap that would guide me through every phase of my business. And that’s when the idea for Solopreneur Success OS was born.
ACE Framework
I sat down and developed the Solopreneur Success OS—built around what I now call the ACE Framework: Aim, Create, Evolve.
Aim: This is where I define my goals, envision my business’s future, and create a roadmap for success. It’s all about setting a strong foundation.
Create: This is the execution phase. Once I had my vision, I needed to bring it to life. This phase focused on implementing strategies, staying consistent, and driving business growth.
Evolve: Finally, I needed a way to regularly review and improve my business. The market changes, my needs change, and new opportunities arise. The Evolve phase helps me adapt and stay ahead.
By breaking my business journey into these three phases, I finally had a clear, actionable plan. And with the Solopreneur Success OS guiding me, I knew exactly what to focus on at every stage of my business.
And Today…
Fast forward to today, and I can confidently say that Solopreneur Success OS has transformed not only my business but also how I approach solopreneurship.
I went from feeling aimless and overwhelmed to having a solid plan that guides every decision I make. I know what to prioritise, how to execute my strategies, and when to review and improve my business.
Now, I have a predictable system in place that keeps me focused on my goals. I’m not waking up every day wondering what to do next. I have clarity, confidence, and—most importantly—control over my business.
